FYI, I just noticed the same issue on Mandriva with firefox 5 too (cooker). So, don't know if it's a packaging issue or a firefox issue.

Yes, but seems it's only in the window list entry during loading a new page. I've never seen it directly in the window title bar, AFAIR. At least for me, i'm using locally built Firefox 5 packages on Mageia 1, backported from Cauldron. The symbol is also far smaller here, and barely noticeable.

Sorry, you're running cauldron which this bug is reported against. FWIW, this does not happen with upstream tarballs here on Mageia 1 x86_64.
I've committed the patch from fedora. But since firefox's spec changed a lot by dmorgan, I don't know if it is right to submit it now.
