Description Jerome Quelin 2011-06-11 21:10:38 CEST
1. install mandriva 2010.2
2. upgrade to mageia 1
3. see getmail not being updated
4. see getmail bailing out (due to different python version i guess)

==> would it be possible to ship getmail in mageia 1?

thanks.

getmail 4.22 is now available in updates_testing. Please test it.

When running it from the command line, you should get an error message when you don't have a configuration for it yet.

Please see http://pyropus.ca/software/getmail/configuration.html on how to set up a configuration file to test with. Testing with a simple pop mailaccount should suffice to validate this update.

By default, getmail should not delete any messages it retrieves from your mailbox, so it should be safe to test this with your regular mailbox, but if you have a side / testing mailbox to test with, you still might prefer to do that.
