Description papoteur 2015-11-21 15:35:22 CET
Add cura.
There is two sources I found:
https://github.com/Ultimaker/Cura seems to be the modern one. In Python 3/Qt5.
There is cura-build in github which helps to build what is needed. But it builds even parts that are already existent.

https://github.com/daid/Cura
which seems to be the old one. Fedora packaged it.

Ultimaker version builds:
Cura
Uranium
CuraEngine
libArcus
protobuf

protobuf is already provided by Mageia, but are the versions compatible?

Source build using https://github.com/Ultimaker/cura-build went well on cauldron.

Protobuf version is OK, but i'm not sure all the required functionality are present in the packages.

Do we need to package separately Uranium, libArcus and CuraEngine ?
Comment 2 papoteur 2015-11-28 09:54:39 CET
I'm sure CuraEngine is to package separately. It can be used with other tools for slicing operation.
For the other, this is not so sure, but as upsteram keep them separately, I think we have to do so.

@ Yann

I see you packaged curaengine-15.04-1.mga6, thanks :-)

In the description I read:

"This is just a console application for G-code generation. For a full graphical
application look at cura with is the graphical frontend for CuraEngine."

Shouldn't that be s/with/which/ ?

Also thx for lib(64)arcus1-15.10-1.mga6

Do you intend to also import cura and uranium?

If so, then please assign this request to yourself.

If not, then please assign this request to pkg-bugs@ml.mageia.org

Thanks,
Marja

Yes, definitely (and fixed in the svn).

> Do you intend to also import cura and uranium?

Yes, but i'm stuck waiting for a working protobuf 3.0, which requires a working maven, currently broken in cauldron.

Yann, do you mean to complete this work with packaging cura?
Comment 6 Morgan Leijström 2019-01-03 23:44:43 CET
I think it is better to use our manpower to more common and Mageia specific apps.

We already provide ways to perform the tasks of Cura in Mageia:

1) The current Cura and also betas are downloadable as Appimages from https://ultimaker.com/en/products/ultimaker-cura-software/list

2) We already carry Slic3r which is similar end good too (both are), but dont keep it updated, so i run latest Slicer in mga6 as Appimage too...
