Summary: Missing RPMs => mysql-adminstrator, mysql-query-browser

I second this request. Although mysql-query-browser has been obsoleted by oracle, the new product they replaced it with, mysql-workbench, does not work with ssh tunneling currently.

Actually, nevermind; I'm a dope :-( I was using the wrong username

@ AL13N

Usually, I set version for package request to cauldron to improve the chance that some one will be willing to do them.

In this case, I didn't, because I don't know whether these tools can be used with mariadb. Can they?

since mariadb is mysql drop-in replacement, with exactly the same ABIs and files and even same filenames in the packages, i'm 99.99% sure it'll work without any testing and if it didn't it'd be a bug (unless the program is unclean and hacks the internals).

if it works with mysql 5.5; it works with mariadb 5.5 ...

that being said; if mysql-query-browser is obsoleted... i'm not sure i'd want to do it... i'm asking upstream just in case.

Thanks, AL13N :D
If mysql-query-browser won't be done, It can be removed from the summary and rpm field of this report and it can stay open for mysql-administrator.

Setting version to cauldron to improve the chance that someone will package it. When it is in cauldron, it'll be in the next stable release, but it is also possible to reopen this request for Mga 1, then.

Version: 1 => Cauldron

Comment 6 AL13N 2011-12-05 08:05:37 CET
er no, perhaps me and #1 were not clear: both are obsoleted by it: see http://dev.mysql.com/downloads/gui-tools/5.0.html
Comment 7 AL13N 2011-12-05 08:07:35 CET
it's obsoleted since 5.0 and we're now at 5.5

either we resolve this as WONT_FIX or we change it to mysql-workbench as a feature request

mysql-workbench is there already, version 5.2.34-2.mga2 and 5.2.33b-1.mga1

oh, you mean an enhancement request to make it work with ssh tunneling?

I think I'd rather open a new bug report for that and then close this one as wontfix.
Comment 9 AL13N 2011-12-05 10:56:33 CET
afaik comment #2 implies that comment #1 is fixed...

i'm sorry, i didn't check if mysql-workbench was already there... -_-'

in any case, let's just set WONT_FIX since OP likely didn't know it was obsoleted
