Description of problem:

Sorry this is quite vague, I had to get the system working so have since done a fresh install.

The upgrade failed with I think it was 82 missing packages. It seemed perl-base was missing which caused missing dependencies aplenty and lack of keyboard, mouse and network once rebooted. Unable to log in or do anything else either really.

I tried several times with the same result so had to give up in the end.

I hope this is still useful for you to know about. If I had less experience behind me then I probably would have ended up ubuntu'd, cursing mageia for losing my photos!

I'm sorry I can't provide further diagnostic info in this case.

that's strange since perl-base is installed by default base-system (needed by urpmi).
if you cannot provide more details, then i'm closing the bug. reopen if you can reproduce with more traces.

I thought it worth reporting as it could have been a disaster. Obviously I can't wind back time so unfortunately there is no way to provide more info.

Clean install went fine but upgrade borked badly.

It wasnt invalid by the way, it really Did happen..

Ii understand though that without further details, which there is no way to provide, then you are limited in what you can easily rectify. Nevertheless it was valid.
