When upgrading from Mandriva 2010.2 to Mageia 1 today, the installer failed to find remote repositories (especially those not being on the DVD, such as "tainted"). The error message was about media.cfg being not found. So I did: urpmi.removemedia -a urpmi.addmedia --distrib --mirrorlist but then it started to look at ftp.u-strasbg.fr, which is a repo for Mandriva. Deleting /var/cache/urpmi/mirrors.cache and then calling the commands above again fixed the problem. Probably should the installer clear the mirror cache itself, so that it can find the Mageia repos when upgrading and use them. This is especially important because several of us use the proprietary Nvidia package, which is not on the DVD, and so Mageia was unable to display the GUI (it booted in text mode, because the installed Nvidia package had an ABI incompatibility), which is frightening for the average user.

Frederic buclin, you did the upgrade with drakxinstaller (dvd) or with mgaonline/urpmi ?
