Setting version to cauldron to improve the chance that someone will package it. When it is in cauldron, it'll be in the next stable release. The package is in Mdv (that makes it more likely it'll get packaged for Mga)

It is valid to go into updates/testing for 1 and 2, and assign to QA, because it was in Mandriva 2010.2 contrib-release Cheers, marja

@ Shlomi btw, I saw you didn't bump cauldron version when pushing the packages for 1 and 2 testing, isn't that needed anymore? https://wiki.mageia.org/en/Mgarepo#The_package_doesn.27t_exist_yet_in_Mageia_1 If it is still needed: are 1 and 2 allowed to have the same version of the same package, or should 2 version be higher?

It's possible it is still needed but I'm not sure about it. I'm going to ask around.
Pkgs may have same version and release: foo-0.1-1.mga3 > foo-0.1-1.mga2 > foo-0.1-1.mga1
I think the only problem is if a lower release needs an update the others don't, it then becomes a higher version than the higher release.

The statement is: âTo ease migration from Mandriva 2010.2, make sure the package on Mageia has an higher release. Also make sure that the Cauldron package has an higher release than the Mageia 1 package.â IIUC, this means that if a package is foo-0.1-7mdv2010.1, it should be at least foo-0.1-7.mga1 so that it is possible to update the Mdv package. The same things applies for upgrade from 1 to 2, and thus for cauldron. The statement about Cauldron is important because we sometimes push updates for Mageia 1 with packages which were already packaged for Cauldron; the packager has to make sure the release is high enough so that the upgrade from Mdv is possible, and then she may have to bump the release in Cauldron since the package was most likely set to release 1 when imported to Cauldron. In the case of pidgin-privacy-please, it was version 0.6.1-1mdv2010.1 in Mandriva 2010.2 so I think we can use 0.7.1-1.mga1 (higher version).

Tested on Mageia 2 i586 and x86_64. Both OK. Before the update, the plugin is not present in Pidgin. After the update, the plugin is shown in Pidgin and behaves as expected: when configured properly, I had it block PMs on IRC and ask a question to filter spam. No regression spotted while using IRC and Gtalk. The SRPMs are: pidgin-privacy-please-0.7.1-1.mga1.src.rpm for Mageia 1 pidgin-privacy-please-0.7.1-1.mga2.src.rpm for Mageia 2

Tested OK Mageia 1 64 on IRC. You have to tick in the plugin preferences to check for bots and untick the 'allow all messages on IRC' in the protocol specific tab. When you send a query it should ask to verify you are human.

Testing complete on Mageia 1 i586. Only annoyance I found, was that after answering the question to confirm I was human, I had to close/reopen the chat, before the otr plugin would also work. Could someone from the sysadmin team push the srpm pidgin-privacy-please-0.7.1-1.mga1.src.rpm from Mageia 1 Core Updates Testing to Core Updates and the srpm pidgin-privacy-please-0.7.1-1.mga2.src.rpm from Mageia 2 Core Update Testint to Core Updates. Advisory: This updates adds the pidgin-privacy-please plugin that was present in Mandriva 2010.2 but missing from Mageia 1 and 2. The pidgin plugin stops spammers from annoying you https://bugs.mageia.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1495
