Description Thierry Vignaud 2014-02-23 11:28:31 CET
Suggested Advisory:
====================
This update fixes print jobs being stuck in the print queue and printer status being "Idle - Filter failed" (bug mga#11684)

List of packages:
=================
cups-filters-1.0.41-3.1.mga4.src.rpm

cups-filters-1.0.41-3.1.mga4.i586.rpm
libcups-filters1-1.0.41-3.1.mga4.i586.rpm
libcups-filters-devel-1.0.41-3.1.mga4.i586.rpm

cups-filters-1.0.41-3.1.mga4.x86_64.rpm
lib64cups-filters1-1.0.41-3.1.mga4.x86_64.rpm
lib64cups-filters-devel-1.0.41-3.1.mga4.x86_64.rpm

Test procedure:
===============
1) Configure your printer with system-config-printer
2) try to print anything
3) the print work remains in the queue
"lpstat -t -v" shows "Idle - Filter failed"
4) update
5) see that printing now works

Hi guys,
It fixes half of the issue. I can now print a test page from system-config-printers, but I still cannot print a postscript file using lpr.

I have attached a test.ps file. Can someone confirm this

Just try:

lpr test.ps

in a terminal.

In the log I have this:

Sorry about my last comment, I think it is a completely unrelated bug, I have just figured out that the filter fails only when I set up a color on options associated with the "ricoh" driver. Otherwise it works fine.
