Hello, I would like to know why samba 4.1 is not packaged for Mageia Cauldron yet. Is there any technical reason ? Stability problems ? etc ... If there's no evident reason, will it be possible to upgrade Samba ? The Debian Project updated Samba to 4.1 recently, so I do think it's a stable version ... which is stable.(even if I'm using 3.6.XX on my file-server) filorin Reproducible: Steps to Reproduce:

Because it's not that easy to make the switch. Feel free to help

this is why i opened a thread about this in the dev@ ML . we need current maintainer to commit his work as he started to work on it and may need help to finish. With the end of the support of windows XP, this is more and more useless to keep samba 3.

It would have been with pleasure for me to help but i don't have skills to do this work ... But, help for tests, translations, I already do ! ;) The thing is that the switch from 3 to 4 will have to been done anyway, then, now or later, it will not change anything !
It's being worked on the package. Please follow it on the ML thread.
