The "mgaapplet" program crashed. Drakbug-16.26.1 caught it. I wasn't doing anything. I had logged in 8 minutes ago. GDBus.Error:org.freedesktop.DBus.Error.ServiceUnknown: The name org.freedesktop.Notifications was not provided by any .service files at /usr/lib/perl5/vendor_perl/5.18.1/i386-linux-thread-multi/Glib/Object/Introspection.pm line 59. I had noticed that it didn't seem to be coming up. I have always regarded similar DBus messages as nuisance only.
I just updated manually. There is an endless loop about procps and a few 64-bit libraries. I will try again tomorrow.
please update, looks like you have a very old version of mgaonline.

I noticed that mgaonline seemed to be from Official. Trying a command line update, I now get this: sudo urpmi mgaonline [sudo] password for doug: error: db5 error(-30969) from dbenv->open: BDB0091 DB_VERSION_MISMATCH: Database environment version mismatch error: cannot open Packages index using db5 - (-30969) error: cannot open Packages database in /var/lib/rpm unable to open rpmdb I have no idea what that means, but I will try a cleanup of my rpm database.
Cleaning up the rpmdb got rid of the message, but then I was back at Comment 1. There are 379 packages waiting, but the update exits with an error Installation failed: package procps-3.2.8-6.2.mga3.i586 is already installed In the list of files to be removecd, I hade the 64-bit version: procps-3.2.8-6.2.mga3.x86_64 Sounds as though something went wrong with the installation?
Just did a complete reinstall, starting from the Beta2 DVD. I now have mgaonline-3.8-1.mga4 and the probblem seems to have gone away. The batch of updates I mentioned in Comment 1 came down later, and all installed without any trouble. I will now check my other bugs. I notice that the version of mgaonline in bug 12416 was identical to mine, except that it had the mga4 suffix.
