Hm, it seems the files are on the isos $ urpmf libapper apper:/usr/lib64/apper/libapper.so apper:/usr/lib64/kde4/imports/org/kde/apper/libapperplugin.so $ urpmf kcm_apper.so apper:/usr/lib64/kde4/kcm_apper.so So I guess it needs to be started from console (and maybe under strace) to figure out where it really fails

Created attachment 4831 [details] strace Agree, files do seem to exist in the 32bit LiveCD as well. $ urpmf libapper apper:/usr/lib/apper/libapper.so apper:/usr/lib/kde4/imports/org/kde/apper/libapperplugin.so $ urpmf kcm_apper.so apper:/usr/lib/kde4/kcm_apper.so Attached strace log, starting from console showed nothing of interest.

The error message is confusing as it makes you think the kcm_apper.so file that can't be found when it is in fact the libapper.so file that can't be found. Simply symlinking it: ln -s apper/libapper.so /usr/lib64/libapper.so This is an ugly fix but my brain can't cope this morning, so I've committed into subversion the best one I can do for now. Something better should be done, but it's not my immediate concern!
