Description claire robinson 2014-01-15 14:50:55 CET
Classic 4RC DVD 64 with default RazorQT installation

MCC does not start when selected in the menu.

When started as normal user from a terminal, a graphical agent asks for root password and works as it should.

razor-policykit-agent is running, should maybe use mate-polkit as other DE's?

This is likely to affect mgaapplet too so updates won't be installable.

This sounds like a double forking issue. If the graphical agent pops up when running via a terminal the polkit-agent bit is work correctly.

The problem is likely with the launching code in RazorQT which needs patched to not do double forking.

Yeah, tests with mate-polkit didn't help. And at the same time net_applet worked fine and I got needed permissions.

This is not a mate-polkit problem, RazorQt provides its own polkit-agent. As Colin pointed out might be a double-forking problem.

I'm working at this bugfix but I lack free time during these days because of my job so... tips are more than welcome.
Comment 5 Colin Guthrie 2014-01-19 17:45:24 CET
I think I've fixed this in svn.

I tested it here and I was able to launch MCC via icons, menu, and command shortcuts (none of which worked before).

OK, closing this one. Feel free to reopen if it's not fixed.
