Description Georges Eckenschwiller 2013-12-23 11:33:41 CET
Description of problem:

Try to install with CD boot-nonfree.iso from 20-12-2013

Stage1 is loading (Detection USB device,, Bringing up network)
-> Error couldn't connect to server

I verify with Ctrl+Alt+F3
Here are some lines:
Loading driver for network device nForce2 Ethernet Controller
Founf net interface enp0s4
DHCP: sending REQUEST
got network 255.255.255.0
got gateway 192.168.0.254
got dns 212.27.40.240
got dns 212.27.40.241
configuring device enp0s4 ip:192.168.0.4 nm:255.255.255.0 nw: 192.168.0.0 bc:192.168.0.255

-> this is correct

Following lines:
AUTOMATIC: question HTTP proxy host answers because of param proxy_host
AUTOMATIC: question HTTP proxy host answers because of param proxy_port
AUTOMATIC: question HTTP server answers 192.168.0.10 because of param server
AUTOMATIC: question Mageia directory answers /mageia/unstable because of param directory

-> Why 192.168.0.10 ? I have no computer in 192.168.0.10 !!

Following lines:
HTTP: trying to retrive /mageia/unstable/install/stage2/mdkinst.sqfs from 192.168.0.10
HTTP: connecting to server 192.168.0.10:80 (no proxy)
/mageia/unstable/install/stage2/mdkinst.sqfs failed
trying /mageia/unstable/i586//install/stage2/mdkinst.sqfs
HTTP: connecting to server 192.168.0.10:80 (no proxy)
HTTp: error -6
unsetting automatic

I choose then Specify the mirror manually
I cannot specify a server FTP, but only HTTP

Comment 2 Manuel Hiebel 2013-12-23 11:48:22 CET
something is strange with the stage1:

it ask for the network card before asking the media we want to use

and if fact doing a cancel offer the ftp/nfs/http/cdrom/HD step
