Description Denis Prost 2011-05-08 08:02:06 CEST
Steps to Reproduce:
1. start arista
2. In preferences
 - for source, choose "choose from file" and select a ".avi" file
 - for device, select web browser
 - in the last field, select flash video
3. press "add" button

Result : a dialog box appears, complaining about missing "gstreamer faac" and "gstreamer x264enc" plugins and proposing to search them. But pressing the search button produces no result.

I tried to search for corresponding packages in Mageia repositories, looking for the strings "gstreamer", "faac" "x264enc" in packages names :
- I found no package containing faac our x264enc in their names
- I installed all "gstreamer something" packages I found, but with no success

gstreamer0.10-x264 is in the Tainted repo.

For faac, this a duplicate of bug 1730.

Comment 2 Denis Prost 2011-06-18 23:08:54 CEST
thanks, I found it and installed it, now arista does not complain any more about x264. I hope now the faac issue explained in bug 1730 will get a solution, so that I can use arista for my needs.
