Description Chris Denice 2013-09-04 22:29:04 CEST
Hi Joseph,

I did a few test with audela, and here the various bugs I found:

* trying to start audela logs various messages in the terminal:
> audela
couldn't load file "libak.so": libak.so: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory
couldn't load file "libgsltcl.so": libgsltcl.so: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory
couldn't load file "libjm.so": libjm.so: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory
couldn't load file "libbm.so": libbm.so: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory
couldn't load file "libyd.so": libyd.so: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory

and display a error message window with:
"can't find package BLT"

* Then, cliking on camera open the camera selection window. If you try to use the webcam audela report the error messages (in its terminal window)

/usr/share/audela/bin/libwebcam.so no such file or directory

* Finally, I cannot close the window from the window manager. I have to hit CTRL+C in a terminal.

* If I try to restart audela, it crashes with various tcl error messages. I have to remove ~/.audela directory to make it start again.

Let me know if I can be of any help,
cheers,
chris.

Still valid. audela is broken since it was imported. Joseph are you going to fix it, or should I ask for it to be dropped from Mageia 5 before it's released?

I don't mind that we drop it, it is really unsusable in that state. Upstream does not seem too much interested to have an up-to-date linux version. Just tried the binary compiled version and it fails due to missing deps too.
Comment 3 Joseph Wang 2015-05-17 20:10:02 CEST
No objections to dropping it. There is a new version, but I don't want it to hold up Mageia 5.
Comment 4 Samuel Verschelde 2015-05-17 20:19:07 CEST
If you plan to update to a new, better working, version, then I have no objection to keeping it, if you provide an update afterwards. Would be better than dropping.

We still have a broken package in Mageia 4, so I'd prefer we fixed it (be it before or after Mageia 5 is released is up to you).

Give me a day to see if the new version will compile. If it compiles out of the box, we can keep it. If it requires any tweaking we should drop it and redo with cauldron.
Comment 6 Joseph Wang 2015-05-18 07:11:42 CEST
Looks painful. There is a 2.1.0 version, but the maintainers have not created a single tarball. I'd like to punt audela for Mageia 5, and then maybe put in into cauldron.

What about Mageia 4?
