Description of problem: After a new installation in empty partitions, Mageia is very long to boot a first time, then a second time (auto reboot) and arrive to the connection screen with no background (black). The connexion is possible but the desk (KDE4) has also a black background. Each attempt to change the driver in the MCC make the PC to crash, black screen with no blinking prompt, no possibility to have a tty. Same thing if you choose or not to test and if the answer is yes or no after the test. Same thing if you try to change the driver in a console after a non graphic boot. I managed lspcidrake | grep DISPLAY in a console, the answer is : Radeon HD4350 [DISPLAY_VGA] No 3D of course. Similar problems with my ATI Radeon Mobility HD4220. My first installation with KDE-One was ok. Second with dual-boot was a struggle. Workaround: Install LXDE, after a lot of errors system is starting Add the nonfree repositories change to the proprietary display driver (via mcc) After that, I installed KDE
