Description of problem: Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable): firefox ESR 17.0.5 flash-player plugin (non-free) v11.2.202.280 How reproducible: Steps to Reproduce: 1. launch firefox with the above weblink 2. Shrink window height so you need to scroll down 3. check clock in menu when it scrolls off the screen Above clock working on Opera, Chromium-browser and Konqueror (Epiphany/Web on Gnome doesn't see flash player) Reproducible: Steps to Reproduce:
I don't see that's wrong, and it see to be working here

Confirmed in VirtualBox. You see the visual artifacts when you scroll it such that the clock is partially shown. If you have just resized the window, the clock display gets totally corrupted. Otherwise, it's just some minor background color issues. If I remember, I'll try to test it at work on real hardware. In the past, Flash issues have been caused by xorg video module issues.

I can't access your site from work, I just get Connection Timed Out. Someone else will have to check this on real hardware for now.
I have this too, only in ff, rekonq runs fine. This on a Nvidia chip using nouveau.

I confirm this with firefox. I also see a similar thing with any video of www.dailymotion.com

I can see the clock fine with my laptop (intel graphics) running live pre-final mga3. It however fails with my desktop running up-to-date cauldron and nvidia hw. The dailymotion pb (check http://www.dailymotion.com/video/x22x7l_beethoven-string-quartet-op-18-no-1_music for example) happens with both hw and firefox.
On that dailymotion page if the video is partially scrolled out of the window I lose it (goes white) and the dailymotion thing right above the list of suggestions gets all flickery. This is in VirtualBox. Hopefully I can reach this site at work to test it on ati.
Correction to my comment - it was using the nvidia driver.

This is in VirtualBox. Hopefully I can > reach this site at work to test it on ati. At work on ati (open source Xorg module) I get no artifacts in the ad above the suggestions lists. For the Beethoven video, when it's partially scrolled out it goes black and white (like TV used to be), but I can still see it fine.

That sounds familiar to me. I found many flash videos not working in firefox (e.g. dailymotion, as mentioned above) since I upgraded to Mageia3 (Screen flickering, or black&white, or much too dark, or complete noisy). All this videos work in Konqueror or Opera, and they even work if you use Firefox that's downloaded directly from mozilla.org (17.0.8esr or 23.0 x64). So to me it seems to be an issue of the mga-built FF, or the libs it uses.

This bug still persist in Mageia 4b2.
Version: 3 => CauldronWhiteboard: (none) => MGA3TOO
Is still bug still valid in Mageia 4 fully updated? Is it valid in latest cauldron too? (Mageia 5 RC will be available soon to test).
Summary: firefox and flash issue when scrolling the page - check my clock => firefox and flash issue when scrolling the page (visual artifacts)
Source RPM: (none) => firefox
Will have to check, but I am pretty certain firefox is not the cause of it.
Source RPM: firefox => (none)
Maybe not the root cause, but until we know better, it's the starting point. Even firefox from mozilla.org doesn't demonstrate the issue (comment #10). I'd prefer we had something in the RPM package field, it'll help visualizing bugs per domain in the future.
I'd prefer not to have an incorrect package in the field, as that's not helpful at all. When the issue first appeared, I had reason to believe (don't remember what it was) that x11-server was the cause and had planned to bisect it, but never had time. Anyway, I'll check this weekend to see if I can still reproduce it.
is bug 12136 a duplicate?
(In reply to Samuel VERSCHELDE from comment #18) > is bug 12136 a duplicate? It doesn't sound like it. This bug only happens when the flash applet is partially scrolled off-screen.
Still valid in Mageia 5b3: Check out http://www.vox.de/cms/sendungen/auto-mobil/autodoktoren-videos.html and play one of the episodes. Binary ff 31esr from mozilla works, mga-package not (only sound, no or flickering video).
Sorry for the delay. Didn't have much time last weekend and had some issues on my VM, but I was able to confirm the issue in Cauldron there, as well as on a physical machine at work just now.

This looks like a very old issue, and Flash is reaching EOL in a few months -> OLD.
