Description MichaÅ Walenciak 2013-05-02 11:32:28 CEST
Description of problem:

Recently I've switched from wifi connection to ethernet.
Since that day my KMail kept thinhing that it is in offline mode and I could not switch it to online one.
Today I've discovered that my eth0 card is not managed by Network Manager (thanks to Network Manager's plasmoid which I used for Wifi networks management).
So I've launched MCC and allowed eth0 to be managed by Network Manager.
It helped and now KMail works fine.

I think this issue should be somehow solved so other users won't be confused.

I'm using latest cauldron, updated every day.

Comment 1 John Balcaen 2013-05-29 00:19:26 CEST
do you have network manager installed & not used when it's happening ?
Comment 2 MichaÅ Walenciak 2013-07-27 09:38:01 CEST
It is installed, but what do you mean by "not used" ?
Comment 3 John Balcaen 2013-07-27 14:00:44 CEST
i mean that nm does not handle the network (you're still using mageia 's script for this)
Comment 4 MichaÅ Walenciak 2013-08-04 07:58:32 CEST
I cannot be sure as I've permamently switched from wifi to wire, however nm for sure was used with wifi and then I just plugged in a wire.
So I guess nm was somehow running/used.

Mageia 3 changed to end-of-life (EOL) status 4 months ago.
http://blog.mageia.org/en/2014/11/26/lets-say-goodbye-to-mageia-3/

Mageia 3 is no longer maintained, which means that it will not receive any further security or bug fix updates. As a result we are closing this bug.

If you can reproduce this bug against a currently maintained version of Mageia
please feel free to click on "Version" change it against that version of Mageia
and reopen this bug.

Thank you for reporting this bug and we are sorry it could not be fixed.
