Description Reinout van Schouwen 2013-05-01 21:07:26 CEST
Description of problem:
In Mageia 2, playing audio CD's works fine in Totem.
In the current version, it fails to find the correct plugin and offers to search for the right one, which it doesn't find.
gstreamer1.0-plugins-base-1.0.5-2 and gstreamer1.0-cdio-1.0.5-2.mga3.tainted.x86_64 are installed.

The console output shows:
** Message: PackageKit: Codec nice name: Audio CD source
** Message: PackageKit: non-structure: gstreamer(null)(urisource-cdda)()(64bit)

Comment 1 Reinout van Schouwen 2013-05-05 15:33:54 CEST
just for clarity, the bug here is not that the missing plugins dialog fails, but that the correct plugin is in fact already installed, and it still fails to play!
Comment 2 Reinout van Schouwen 2014-12-30 23:02:05 CET
I don't think Totem is supposed to play audio cd's at all nowadays. At least I didn't find a way to do it, and sound juicer works well enough.
