Description Margaret Wood 2013-04-28 06:00:10 CEST
Description of problem:
System Settings -> Application Appearance-> Colors -> Colors does not give the user control of all the colors used by applications, resulting in unreadable UIs

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
KDE 4.10.2

How reproducible:

Steps to Reproduce:
1.Create a new user and log in as this user.
2.System Settings -> Application Appearance-> Colors -> Colors
Change all the colour settings, including the ones intially appearing as "Varies", using different dark colours for all backgrounds and different light colours for all foregrounds.
  Save the settings
3. Open Mageia Control Center
The Software Management still has a white background and black text - not using the colours set up in stage 2
   Select Install and Remove Software
The list of categories on the left has alternate lines with a white background (not the background color set in stage 2) and light coloured text (which was set in stage 2), so these lines are unreadable.
Select a category, then select an item from the package list (which also has half its items unreadable). Expand the Details section. The url is written in royal blue text, not in any of the colours set in Stage 2, and is unreadable on many dark backgrounds

Close the Mageia Control Center and bring up the log out dialog - it has a light grey background and black text - not using the colours defined in stage 2.

The Mageia Control Center use gtk and qt, I'm not sure the kde settings can configure gtk one

Source RPM: Don't know which package => (none)

Comment 2 Margaret Wood 2013-05-29 04:39:01 CEST
Most of the colours I have set ARE being passed to GTK - otherwise the text would not be light coloured in the list of categories.
