I installed Mageia 3 Beta 4 on a second harddisk (/dev/sda9) with grub in the root partition. My bootdevice is a SSD (dev/sdb), with grub as bootloader. The installation was succesfull, and I can boot from grub on dev/sdb and chainload to grub on dev/sda9 to start Mageia 3. A kernel update to kernel-server-3.8.8 however changed all menu entries in /boot/grub/menu.lst on dev/sda9 from (hd1,8) into (hd0,8). As a result Mageia 3 fails to start. Reproducible: Steps to Reproduce:
Can you attach your /etc/fstab & your /boot/grub/menu.lst?

Hi Gerald. Sorry that your bug report was overlooked after you provided your information. Mageia 3 is now no more supported. Have you seen this bug in Mageia 4 and/or recent cauldron?

Samuel, no I haven't seen this bug in Mageia 4 or Cauldron. After this bugreport, two years ago, I changed my setup to avoid these problems in the future, Since then I boot from dev/sda. However, today I tested a installation of Mageia 5 RC with bootloader on dev/sdb (not on default dev/sda). After a kernel update from kernel-desktop-latest 3.19.4-2.mga5 to 3.19.8-1.mga5 I didn't see any wrong changes in menu.lst.
