Tried to reproduce the problem in a different partition (because the partition I tried last time has a working mageia 3 installation and I don't wanted to destroy it).

The only difference is the partition I selected to convert to LVM. The one that was failing were at the end of the disk and it worked with anotehr one...

Really I can't tell you what was the problem but I can asure you:

1) tried 3 times with the same result: an error without a clear explanation (some error code but without an explaining text) when the installer tried to create the logical volumes.
2) tried with Mageia 2 and worked without problems.
3) created a normal ext4 partition without problems.

The disk is 1Tb divided in 3 parts (with EFI):
1- for experimenting with MAc OS
2- reserved for windows or some tests
3- for linux (mageia 3)

What I tried to do is to divide the 3th partition in 3:
1- 512Mb for /boot
2- 2Gb for swap
3- the rest for LVM

Then dded it to an LVM, and created 2 volumes on it: 40Gb for /root and the rest for /home

When I tried to continue the installer given the error. I don't know if it was when it tried to create the partitions or when trying to create the LVMs.

The only solution was not using LVM and using all space for /root. The system was installed OK.

Then, trying to reproduce the problem, I started the installer again and created the same parts in the second partition but there was no error...

The only thing I can test is replacing the hard disk but I don't have another 1Tb disk, only an 200Gb one.

Reducing priority as nobody can reproduce it and we have neither the error message nor the logs.
Not closing it since it obviously happened.

Priority: release_blocker => Low
Severity: major => normal

@anyone:

This bug appears valid against an old installer (M3) but needs reproducing with bug report under M5+ installer to possibly be able to fix it.

Until such time this bug just eats disk space...

Summary: Installer can't create Logical Volumes => Installer can't create Logical Volumes (new 1 Tb EFI disk volunteer needed)

We can't do anything w/o logs.
