Advisory: ========== This update of drakxtools fixes several issues: - diskdrake offers to resize NTFS again - drakboot fixes removing LVM entries when saving /etc/fstab (mga#5811) - drakclock fixes crashing if timezones cannot be listed (mga#6787) Last but not least, it fixes a rare crash when a banner icon doesn't exist (mga#5223). Which version was in the x86_64 network install installer i fetched yesterday evening? It had multiple problems; after creating an encrypted partition in lvm, it forgot the mount points of other partitions in that lvm, and similar issues. Also a couple times had to flip between folder tabs to get partitions display. I reverted to have one boot, one large encrypted lvm and all partitions inside that, then it did not wreck it.

This has nothing to do with installer. Mga2 installer is frozen for nearly a year.
As per bug 10188, bootloader-config now fails to create an initrd if the system isn't booted from sda. My bios is set to boot from sdb, by default, which has the gag boot manager on it. For the install being upgraded in 10188, grub is installed in sdb1. As per the strace output in attachment 4008 [details], bootloader-config is looking at the grub entry on /dev/sda (which I used for testing), and altering the device.map to indicate sda is hd0. The device.map is created correctly during install, as it asks you which drive you will be booting from. The bootloader-config should respect the existing device.map, and not assume sda is being used for booting.

There's has been no change regarding this in this update, so this is totally unrelated

Testing Mageia 2 x86_64. Before installing the update, confirmed the entry /dev/mapper/vg--mga-2 /test/lvm2 ntfs defaults 0 0 was deleted from fstab, when adding another volume group. The ntfs and ntfs-3g filesystems do not show the resize option. After running "rpm -e --nodeps timezone-2012c", trying to change the timezone in drakclock crashes. After installing the update, drakclock no allows trying to change the timezone, if the timezone package is not installed. The /dev/mapper entry no longer gets deleted, when adding another filesystem. However, the ntfs and ntfs-3g filesystems still do not show the resize option. Further testing shows that they do show resize, if on physical partitions, but not if on lvm logical volumes. Shouldn't the resize option show for ntfs formatted logical volumes?

Adding Thierry to cc list. Please see comment 6.

We never offered to resize NTFS on top of LVM (which would not be supported by Windows anyway). Thus this is neither a regression nor a new issue.
Ah. Yes. Sorry for the mistake. Validating the update. Could someone from the sysadmin team push 9741.adv to updates.
