Description Morgan Leijström 2013-04-11 23:32:11 CEST
Fresh install using mga3b4 dual iso, on Thinkpad T43;
Basic install with LXDE, reboot
Full update last hour, plus install wifi,
task-kde and various small bits from commad line

reboot into LXDE, run mcc, change DM to KDM, answer yes to the question if I want to restart DM now:
-> immediate black text screen with text "Floating point exception"

Rebooting by issuing reboot at text screen console Ctrl-Alt-F2;
Everything seem OK, KDM and KDE works.

kernel: 3.8.6-desktop-2.mga3

You need to reboot with your older kernel, update to latest systemd & systemd-udev, then rebuild your initrd.
eg:
rm -f /boot/initrd-3.8.6-desktop-2.mga3.img
mkinitrd /boot/initrd-3.8.6-desktop-2.mga3.img 3.8.6-desktop-2.mga3
