Description of problem: Install of the new kernel removed the 3 from the boot line (along with removing nokmsboot and changing the video card driver to ati for the AMD HD3200 card -- separate bug report on that).

In consequence, the machine tried to boot into the GUI, and failed, leaving the screen black except for the error message Out Of Range.

what for bootloader do you use ? what for kernel line did you have ?

Mageia 3 changed to end-of-life (EOL) status 4 months ago.
