Description of problem: Install of the new kernel removed the 3 from the boot line (along with removing nokmsboot and changing the video card driver to ati for the AMD HD3200 card -- separate bug report on that). In consequence, the machine tried to boot into the GUI, and failed, leaving the screen black except for the error message Out Of Range.
