Description Carolyn Rowse 2013-04-05 19:52:14 CEST
Description of problem:

After installing from the dual CD with LXDE selected, trying to configure the desktop I see that every time I go into "Desktop Preferences" the wallpaper selection is shown as "None" and the default wallpaper vanishes, leaving a black screen. Clicking the selection icon takes me to my home folder, not to the folder where the wallpapers are stored (usr/share/mga/backgrounds). This happens even if I only want to change the font and don't touch the wallpaper settings.

I cannot reproduce, after installing task-lxde : while 'none' is shown for the wallpaper, clicking 'close' does not remove default bg.

Also clicking on none opens /usr/share/mga/backgrounds , so does this folder exist in your system?

Yes, the folder exists with its contents.

Looking in Install & Remove Software, the listing for task-lxde shows 3.2.mga3 as installed, but there is also 3.3.mga3, should that one be installed instead?

No, this one is for another bug (epdfviewer is now suggested) Still, you should test with an updated system, and reopen this bug if the problem is still there.

This is fine now using the RC iso.

Many thanks.
