An error message is shown when I login using Gnome.

The message:
Metacity (as gdm)
These windows do not support "save current setup" and will have to be restarted manually next time you log in.

Version: Mageia alpha 1 with Gnome (no change after installing updates).

No, it's not fixed; the fix mentioned in comment 17 in the above report "Make greeter login window be a dock. Fixes metacity complaining about session management."

was reverted upstream as it caused more serious bugs c.f. https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=587732#c8

So, still not fixed in gtm-2.32.0.... :/

After looking, there is and no-lame-dialog.patch ( that was reverted ).
And  Should-set-RestartStyleHint-to-RestartIfRunning-when.patch

I think http://pkgs.fedoraproject.org/gitweb/?p=metacity.git;a=blob;f=Should-set-RestartStyleHint-to-RestartIfRunning-when.patch;h=c674d13261168d2d769b66a4122baedfb7cd5fd6;hb=refs/heads/f14/master

should do the trick.
