Description Philippe Didier 2013-03-31 15:55:52 CEST
last version of ffmpeg brought some problems to read wma files

This bug is created to allow to concentrate on vlc and xine :
some patches corrected some of these problems for other apps (thanks to Christiaan )
see bug 8925 which will be closed

But this remains for vlc and xine :

Vlc, xine are strictly built with the distribution version of ffmpeg : when trying to play wma audiofiles we get a noisy sound (white noise over the song)

VLC appears to work now with a random WMA (8) file.

XINE still outputs noise.. we have a xine-lib 1.2.x in cauldron (that should work) but I don't see how it can be used.

OK I built xine-ui updated to version 0.99.9 against our xine-lib 1.2.6. Now the same WMA file plays fine.

Xine-ui is fixed in cauldron with 0.99.9-1 (but still broken in mga4 AFAIK).
