Testing: Mageia-3-beta4-x86_64-DVD.iso Perform a minimal install: (including urpmi) Then, with the DVD present, run: urpmi task-kde4 After answering questions, a repeated message of: "Please insert the medium named "Core Release"" is displayed, a large number of times. ( I got bored and pressed ctrl-C) OR urpmi --auto --verbose task-kde4 Output: -------------------- getting lock on urpmi examining synthesis file [/var/lib/urpmi/synthesis.hdlist.Core Release.cz] examining synthesis file [/var/lib/urpmi/synthesis.hdlist.Nonfree Release.cz] getting exclusive lock on rpm found package(s): task-kde4-4.9.97-2.mga3.noarch preferring Default-kde4-config over vanilla-kde4-config,netbook-kde4-config preferring kded_randrmonitor over kscreen preferring phonon-gstreamer over phonon-xine,phonon-vlc preferring notification-daemon over xfce4-notifyd found cdrom Core Release mounted in /media/Mageia-3 beta4-x86_64 medium "Core Release" is not available unlocking rpm database unlocking urpmi database This is odd, because, trying something like: urpmi python works, and it installs python. If I eject the DVD, and try urpmi python, it pauses and requests the DVD. If I eject the DVD and try: urpmi task-kde4 it asks for the DVD, then repeats the error: The other error that is displayed is, when doing this is: "Use of uninitialized value in subrutine entry at /usr/lib/perl5/vendor_perl/5.16.2/x86_64-linux-thread-multi/Net/DBus/Binding/Connection.pm line 257. in a VM it seems to works fine here
That is very odd. Any thing I can do to help debug it. The hypervisor I used is KVM. I can provide the exact steps I took tomorrow.
when testing this, I did not update my sources during the install, when it prompts to at the end. Then logged in as root ( on the command line).. and ran urpmi task-kde. What was odd, is that other things, like urpmi python, worked.
Trying the beta4 ISOs, which were updated last night, it works fine for me now. So, closing.
