Appears to fail unpacking an archive. /root/drakx directory attached Reproducible: Steps to Reproduce:
Created attachment 3646 [details] m3b4 /root/drakx directory
As I responded on the mailing list, it worked for me. Check that there is enough space in the filesystems being used, and that the md5sum and/or sha1sum hashes of the iso images are correct.

md5sum checks. Plenty of space on the HD partitions. Lets see if someone else comes up with the same prob's. I'm installing to real hardware, blank drive partitioned by installer.
80GB SATA drive
The df command shows my kde install used 4.0G in the / filesystem, and 45M in /boot. How big were the partitions created by the installer? Are you using a dvd or a usb stick? I used a usb stick.
I'm installing from a USB drive 80GB ( 72.34 ) SATA drive [ /dev/sda1 ext4 12.01GB ] [ /dev/sda2 /dev/sda5 linux_swap 3.9GB /dev/sda6 ext4 60.42 ] The way I measure this is that the drive is still not bootable so I boot puppy linux 5.5 from a CD and use gparted on puppy to find the drive partitioning. Also puppy can get to the /root/drakx directory and copy that.

and like Dave, it works fine here too
I'm going to re-run my testing today and also try Vbox
I have re-run my testing here using an 8GB USB thumb drive and that in fact executed a successful install. The original thumbdrive I used was 4GB. I then rewrote that 4GB with the same ISO again, reexecuted an install and was successful with that. I'll change this bug to RESOLVED. FWIW both the 32 & 64 bit Classical Installers just barely fit on a 4GB thumb drive. Seems I remember an issue with 4GB thumb drives way back when on Mandriva.
