according to sophie /etc/rc.d/init.d/upsd doesn't exist anymore http://svnweb.mageia.org/soft/drakx/trunk/perl-install/standalone/drakups?revision=6757&view=markup#l319
Assignee: bugsquad => thierry.vignaud
Summary: UPS doesn't work => drakups goes into a loop (init file doesn't exist any more)
As it effectively disables one of Mageia tools, should it be marked as release critical?
Should be fixed in r7890. Can you test by manually editing the file on your machine to ensure it works (I don't have a UPS here to test). http://svnweb.mageia.org/soft?view=revision&revision=7890
CC: (none) => mageia
If the above is not clear you can just edit /usr/bin/drakups on your machine and ensure that the change made in svn is applied (basically just changing the path). http://svnweb.mageia.org/soft/drakx/trunk/perl-install/standalone/drakups?r1=7890&r2=7889&pathrev=7890
Hm, I'd like to test but isn't /usr/bin/drakups executable binary file (it seems to be in mine system at least, though I may be erred))? How do apply the patch?

use the root file /usr/sbin/drakups
Yep, drakups at least starts now correctly! (I myself can't more test, too, due to lacking hardware ...)
