Description AL13N 2013-03-17 22:47:22 CET
removable media is getting cheap(slow) and large, and end-user machines end up with alot of RAM, because it's cheap too...

this means when when you're copying a substantial amount of data, it finishes quite rapidly, but when unmounting the device, it takes ages to finish... some people start to think that it's not gonna get finished and interrupt it.

plus, when people are waiting for a transfer of data, so they an close the laptop, or they are nearing power-loss or whatnot... they are giving a completely wrong impression, the copy took a few minutes, but it'll take more than 2 minutes extra to actually finish...

we really need to find a way to mount all removable media as sync by default.

Sorry, but this bug saw no action since over 2 yrs ago.
No cauldron package has stayed the same since then.

Closing as OLD

Please reopen if this report is still valid for _current_ cauldron and/or fully
updated Mageia 4
