It's libreoffice-base that requires postgresql-jdbc (coming from RH). Does base works ok w/o it? If yes we could change that requires in a suggests

In my tests, this only pulls postgresql-jdbc, no other deps.

You'll still have to explain me why a java driver for postgresql is mandatory when I'm only interested in running oowriter.
If you want to save 550kb of disk space, then uninstall libreoffice-base. You understand it's not needed for writer, do you?
I don't care about disk space, I care about correctness of automatic dependencies. Especially when they are relatively invasive, such as java ones.
