Description of problem: I have an upstream bug that I'm working on for Clementine Player. It's been requested that I update it to the latest version. The version in the repos for Mageia 2 is 1.0.1, which is not the latest version. I am not set up or prepared to install Cauldron until RC (I understand 1.1.1 is in Beta). Hence, I am requesting that it be updated for Mageia 2. I am unable to find a src.rpm for it as well, anywhere, for Mageia 2. This is critical, as it is crashing quite frequently with 100% CPU on 1.0.1 from the Mageia repos. Thanks. FYI, it's been next to impossible to get the tar.gz to compile... hence why I'm requesting rpm. I need someone who knows what they're doing, and you guys are it. Thanks.
Usually we don't update rpm if its not a bugfix only release. the srpm that you couldn't found: http://distrib-coffee.ipsl.jussieu.fr/pub/linux/Mageia/distrib/2/SRPMS/core/updates/clementine-1.0.1-1.1.mga2.src.rpm

So, where does that leave me? This is a bug, obviously. Thanks.
As Manuel already said, per update policy we can't update to a new version if it isn't a bugfix only release, and 1.1.1 isn't. So we need to patch the current mga 2 version to fix this bug only. If you want to have this fixed then please help us looking for a patch or the commit that fixes this issue, I have a lot to do with mga 3 and this will be low in my priorities until mga 3 is released. If you find the patch then I can do an update quicker.
Why couldn't Clementine 1.1.1 just be backported from 3?
3 Beta, is what I meant. Sorry.
(In reply to Kim Garren from comment #5) > Why couldn't Clementine 1.1.1 just be backported from 3? Because we currently don't have a backports repository for mga 2.
Hi, I have rebuild Clementine for Mageia2. If you are interested by my srpms => http://linuxtricks.asso-linux-online.fr/adrien/rpm/mga2/SRPMS/clementine-1.1.1-1.mga2.src.rpm Note, you must have chromaprint-devel to rebuild it or chromaprint for use it (i don't remeber) => http://linuxtricks.asso-linux-online.fr/adrien/rpm/mga2/SRPMS/chromaprint-0.7-1.mga2.src.rpm Thanks !

I have both installed, from finally having to compile it. Wish I'd seen this earlier, but I am going to uninstall what I have, and will reinstall using the .rpm. Thank you so so much!
Could you describe what exactly is that bug that you have with Clementine so that we have a chance to find the upstream patch that fixes it and backport it to Mageia 2?

This message is a reminder that Mageia 2 is nearing its end of life. Approximately one month from now Mageia will stop maintaining and issuing updates for Mageia 2. At that time this bug will be closed as WONTFIX (EOL) if it remains open with a Mageia 'version' of '2'. Package Maintainer: If you wish for this bug to remain open because you plan to fix it in a currently maintained version, simply change the 'version' to a later Mageia version prior to Mageia 2's end of life. Bug Reporter: Thank you for reporting this issue and we are sorry that we may not be able to fix it before Mageia 2 is end of life. If you would still like to see this bug fixed and are able to reproduce it against a later version of Mageia, you are encouraged to click on "Version" and change it against that version of Mageia. Although we aim to fix as many bugs as possible during every release's lifetime, sometimes those efforts are overtaken by events. Often a more recent Mageia release includes newer upstream software that fixes bugs or makes them obsolete. -- The Mageia Bugsquad
Mageia 2 changed to end-of-life (EOL) status on ''22 November''. Mageia 2 is no longer maintained, which means that it will not receive any further security or bug fix updates. As a result we are closing this bug. If you can reproduce this bug against a currently maintained version of Mageia please feel free to click on "Version" change it against that version of Mageia and reopen this bug. Thank you for reporting this bug and we are sorry it could not be fixed. -- The Mageia Bugsquad
