Description Antonio Ibáñez 2013-03-12 19:53:22 CET
Description of problem:

I downloaded the rpm package from the official web site and I installed with 'urpmi package'. The installation works fine, all dependences were downloaded by urpmi, but it stopped the X server.

I had to open a new terminal (Ctrl+Alt+F2) and startx. After that, I can work without problems.

How reproducible:

I didn't try to do again.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Download TeamViewer 8 rpm package from the official website.
2. Install it with 'urpmi package'.

Notes: It's my first time reporting bugs, I hope do it well.

Reproducible:

To reproduce the problem uses this command: 'teamviewer --daemon start'. This instruction is killing the x server.

Seems like a bug in third party package and we can't do much about it. Does upstream have some kind of bug tracking system where you can report it?

I'm not sure understanding what you're telling me. I'm spanish and my english isn't the better. I understand you are asking I report the bug on TeamViewer's team, X.Org or the KDE project.

Anyway, before report I install the same version of Team Viewer on Ubuntu 12.04.2 and works without problems. That was thought me a Mageia's problem.

If not, please tell me. It's the first time I'm reporting bugs and I just wanna learn and help.
Comment 6 Nic Baxter 2015-03-28 07:46:23 CET
I can't reproduce this report. I have been using Mageia and teamviewer for at least the 4 years to support family and friends solve problems with windows. I currently use 5Beta3 and teamviewer 10. This issue must be due to some other software interactions. If this is still an issue for you please make further comment.

I assume this report is either fixed with newer versions of teamviewer, or that the problem is with an external package outside of our control (though, X shouldn't freeze). As such, closing this as WONTFIX. Thank you for the report though.
