The dkms version in Mageia has not been updated since 2008. New dkms aware softwares requires the latest version from Dell, currently v2.2.0.3. I realize there are many Mandriva/Mageia patches applied that has to be revisited, ported or dropped and this needs a steady hand and a lot of patience.

Yep. wich is why no-one has really taken time to do it... :/ And since it still works in mga, it has not been considered critical...

I've run into issues with this trying to install bbswitch on a dual graphics controller machine. Just to give another example...
