Description Morgan Leijström 2013-02-17 19:53:07 CET
I think that on the download page
there should be a prominent link
"Which to choose"
pointing to
https://wiki.mageia.org/en/Installation_Media

Thanks for your feedback!

Yes, the download page should make it more obvious what each download option provides; having so many options is already a bit confusing.

So... we can add a link on the side column. This document is good for someone who wants to dive in, but not for someone who just want to download Mageia - this would only add more confusion.

Trying to prepare something for Mageia 3 download page this week (and retrofit it into Mageia 2 page).

YES! It would be great with a short text on the download page and a "Read more" link to the wiki :)

Bump! Now when mga3 is out, i see users in mailing list need that info.

- PLUS - That page also have info on how to get it on USB

So link could be named "Which to choose, and how to put on USB stick"

Morgan if you send some text I would be happy to integrate it, I don't know what was Romain plans.

btw the wiki page needs some updates like for:
"The DVD ISO exclusively contains free-open-source software, so you won't find any nonfree software on it (e.g. the nVidia or ATI proprietary graphics cards drivers or firmware for wifi cards... etc)"

this is not longer valid for mageia 3

To me it seems that we can simply put a link on the right side of the DL page.

In "Mageia 3" section under "Errata".

Alternative is to add a sentence somewhere on the bottom.

WDYT?

Yes putting a link at on download page right seem to me as the right thing.

The important thing is to guide the reader to
§ How to choose what to download
§ How to get it on a USB storage

That page handles both questions. Maybe it should be divided, but tha tis a separate question, lika as updating the text is a separate issue, and maybe Romain or somebody else will get back on that.

Two links to distinct anchors in the same page, or two pages, is perfect. Filip, the place you suggest is perfect.
Comment 8 Manuel Hiebel 2013-05-29 19:36:51 CEST
As nobody seems to have done it, I added two links based on suggestions you provided.
Thanks
