Description of problem:
When booting off the DVD, all the services are listed as they are starting. As soon as it gets to the "Starting Authorisation Manager" the OS hangs.

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
Mageia 3 Beta 2 i586 DVD

How reproducible:
Boot off DVD both install and live options. Press the esc key to see the list of whats happenning, and then wait for it to try and start auth manager

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Boot off DVD
2. Press esc to see list of whats happenning
3. At Starting Authorisation Manager system angs

Can you add the actual ISO name please. The one you mention appears to be the classic installer dvd but you later mention the live mode, which it doesn't have.

eg. Mageia-3-beta2-LiveDVD-KDE4-i586-DVD

The desktop is relevant, as they use different display managers (GDM/KDM)

Could you also try with the alternate desktop livedvd


Also could you give your hardware specs please.

If you manage to boot on one, the output of lspcidrake -v could be useful

ISO downloaded was Mageia-3-beta2-LiveDVD-KDE4-i586-DVD

Ive got Fedora 18 installed at the moment, so ran lspci -v, hopefully this is the fedora version of lspcidrake -v, and the details were

Mageia 3 is not supported anymore and comment #3 and comment #4 got no answer.

Closing as OLD, please reopen if needed after making sure it can be reproduced in Mageia 5RC or later.
