partition layout just after booting the Mageia 3 live DVD

Hi,

When a lvm volume group is on a lvm physical volume with partition type not set to 8E ('LVM Linux'), its corresponding tab is not loaded in the 'custom partitioning disk' screen next to the hard disks.

Notes:

1: It is possible to create lvm physical volumes on partitions with type 83 ('Linux'), and all lvm tools can use them as normal.

2: Fedora and Ubuntu's last install medias can use such volume groups as normal, as can the Mageia 2 install DVD.

Workaround:
Change the partition type to 8E('LVM Linux') (e.g. with fdisk).

Bug found with both the Gnome live DVD and the install DVD, x86_64, beta 2 (didn't test before this release).

I let the severity set to normal, but I don't know what to set here:
a: it blocks the installation when someone wants to install Mageia in the lvm volume group without deleting existing logical volumes,
b: but it is easy to workaround,
c: but it is easy to loose data when working around.
d: All other distros seems to support this, and Mageia did until Mageia 2.

I set the hardware to All because I think it is independent of that, but I only tested x86_64.

Thanks Eric for the bug report. Do you know if it's still valid for the Beta 3?

Hi,

The bug is fixed in beta3 (tried in virtualbox with the beta3 DVD).
