this is not new, it's the case since mdv 2010.1 at least

AFAIK the autologin functionality is removed at a certain stage (I saw it in one particular journalctl), but it seems this fails on occasion.

Please see also https://bugs.mageia.org/show_bug.cgi?id=12291

Perhaps either one is a duplicate.

This remains extant for Mageia 5. There seems no justification for it. Several people are complaining, and the fact that you *can* correct it manually does not remove the need to fix it.
TIA...

Thierry, any idea about this? Is there a function meant to unset the autologin after install in draklive-install, or is it a feature that has yet to be implemented?

It used to be we change /etc/sysconfig/autologin, but maybe KDE/Gnome is not obeying that anymore either.

I guess /etc/sysconfig/autologin is no longer used. I just checked on my system (a recently installed cauldron with the classical installer).
- I had /etc/sysconfig/autologin with AUTOLOGIN=yes
- Autologin was _not_ enabled on my system in drakconf (and not working either, so that's coherent with the drakconf setting)
- I just enabled autologin in drakconf, and then /etc/sysconfig/autologin was deleted

@Lewis: if this problem persists for you, you mention you can fix it manually... how do you fix it?

drakconf -> boot -> set up autologin.

Yeah, I have verified this... the "/etc/sysconfig/autologin" is part of the "prefdm" setup that is not really much used anymore, but thats ok,

I can adapt draklive-finish-install to flip the gdm/kdm bits do disable autologin after first boot

That sounds like a good solution for the time being.
