Description mat ali 2013-01-31 22:24:26 CET
Description of problem:

Compiling collada-dom and installing won't install headers ( in my case needed to compile mitsuba 0.4.3)
Trying to install from Fedora 18 won't work as collada-dom-devel require collda-dom which require boost 1.50. I found no way to install those headers.
Would be nice to have them in the official repo as it is the most supported open 3D format at the moment, so it will be usefull for many users, not only for Mitsuba.

In fact, compiling collada-dom and running "make install" as root instead of sudo installs header files, but they are not recognized by the scons script (even after deleting cache file).

Update : they are actually found, but looks like libxml2 is not installed (it is installed). Investigating, I'll report on that later. I checked and the exact same version of that library on Fedora17 works perfectly with mitsuba...

Assigning this package request to all packagers collectively. On a voluntary basis, one of them might want to integrate it to the distribution and maintain it for bug and security fixes.

You might also want to join the packager team to maintain this piece of software: see https://wiki.mageia.org/en/Becoming_a_Mageia_Packager
