Description Reinout van Schouwen 2013-01-28 21:15:54 CET
The Revelation package from Mandriva Cooker installs fine, only misses a dependency on lib64crack2.
It shouldn't be much trouble to package the latest version available from http://revelation.olasagasti.info/download.php , I believe.

ping?
Comment 2 Andy Liebman 2013-06-11 01:06:50 CEST
It's actually lib64crack2-python that is a missing dependency, not lib64crack2!

@Andy, thanks for the info -- do you have the opportunity to package Revelation for MGA4, please?

Hardware: i586 => All

Could you give the link to the Cooker src.rpm?

I think this is the latest one:
ftp://ftp.free.fr/pub/Distributions_Linux/MandrivaLinux/devel/cooker/SRPMS/contrib/release/revelation-0.4.13-1.src.rpm

The latest version is 0.4.14.

Is there anything I can do to help?

Whoever comes across this bug and is stuck with inaccessible revelation password databases, it may be useful to know that https://github.com/pypingou/revelationcli allows you to access them from the command line.

Revelation itself seems to be a dead project so I don't know how useful it is to package it any more.

Assigning this package request to all packagers collectively. On a voluntary basis, one of them might want to integrate it to the distribution and maintain it for bug and security fixes.

You might also want to join the packager team to maintain this piece of software: see https://wiki.mageia.org/en/Becoming_a_Mageia_Packager

Sorry, bugs@ml and pkg-bugs@ml members, for the avalanche.

72 bugs with the "New RPM package request" component, had a severity of "normal" or more, which can lead to losing precious time when searching Bugzilla for bugs that urgently need to get fixed

Now mass-changing that to "enhancement", as it should be for package requests.

https://wiki.mageia.org/en/How_to_report_a_bug_properly#How_to_file_a_package_request

@ the reporter of this package request

Please check in http://madb.mageia.org/ whether this software did already get packaged, and close this bug report if it did.
Please do also close it if you find a package with the same purpose, that meets your needs.

Severity: normal => enhancement

Comment 10 Marja Van Waes 2018-01-24 10:24:37 CET
Closing as Duplicate of bug 22442 instead of the other way around, because bug #22442, comment #0 contains instructions on how to install this software in Mageia 6 while using a fedora rpm

*** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of bug 22442 ***
