Installation of ISOs Mon Jan 21, tested with install DVDs (x86_64 and i586) and KDE LiveCD (en only) for i586. Tested on x86_64 and i586 machines. x86_64 = Atheros AR9285 i586 = Broadcom BCM4312 Both systems are connecting to my network, wifi is working. But on both machines the list of available networks in drakxnet is empty, not even the network it is connected to is showing. A check on CLI using 'iwlist scanning' shows several networks available on channels 1 to 13. This list changes depending on my location. No systems showing also means not being able to connect to open networks in the neighborhood or in my favourite bistro, at least not as easy as with draknet GUI. Configuring manually in the GUI (checked with a network I know) does not work either.

CCing Thomas, I remember him saying something about ath9k. He'll need to know of broadcom issues too.

Well, seems to be the issue of #8228. I used the patch on monitor.pm and it worked for ath9k. now I check for the BCM chip. In short: it's a change of the scan results from positive to negative. Resulst with negative are not shown as available by draknet. So it's a duplicate of #8228
Tested with i586 with Broadcom BCM4312 - works and solves the problem.
Thanks for sticking with this Wolfgang *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of bug 8228 ***
