Like Mandriva, Mageia does not include K3B or Brasero on their live media. I wonder if this is due to space..! However, nowadays, live media can come on DVD, and many people, including myself, dump the live media on a USB stick. I think an optical disk burning tool is important and indispensable on a live system since it adds more functionality on back-up, recovery or rescue missions. IMHO; this would add vesatility to Mageia Live Editions as they can be used for other pueposes than just trying Mageia.
You can always add repos and install needed packages. :) There is another way to solve it but i don't think Thomas has had time to work on it. See bug #7796

I don't understand how that relates to my question! What I wanted to say is that K3b and Brasero should be included in the live media. I am not talking about installation from live media, I am talking about using Mageia Live only. So while in the LIVE SYSTEM; I'd love to be able to burn some ISO using an external USB burner say; I don't want to install Mageia in this case, nor, by large, having to activate repos for the live media in order to install K3B everytime I boot the live system. Only live system is meant here and using live media only without any kind of installation..

Thanks Manuel; I actually never use Gnome unless someone asks for it..So is there a plan to include K3B in the KDE Live Media?
You can install k3b (or any other software) when running a live system. It is of course lost on re-boot. The problem with installing a CD burner is that the live CD media would need to be removed to use it. Which it cannot. (assuming a single drive) It *may* work when booting from a USB stick although I have not tried it.

Of course! I am assuming that you either boot from a usb, or have a usb burner or more than one burner installed.. In my case I always boot from usb and most often use an external dvd-writer
