Description Barry Jackson 2012-12-27 23:12:39 CET
Clean net-installed Cauldron.
No notifications for either sd or usb insertions.

I see the same problem with a fully updated Cauldron system.

A device is detected :-
Dec 27 20:01:30 jackodesktop kernel: sd 6:0:0:2: [sdg] 15564800 512-byte logical blocks: (7.96 GB/7.42 GiB)
Dec 27 20:01:30 jackodesktop kernel: sdg: detected capacity change from 0 to 7969177600
Dec 27 20:01:30 jackodesktop kernel: sdg: sdg1 sdg2
Dec 27 20:01:34 jackodesktop kernel: sdg: detected capacity change from 7969177600 to 0

...but nothing in systray device notifier.

In systemsettings - removeable devices, setting is default.

Comment 4 roelof Wobben 2012-12-28 13:28:28 CET
Wierd,

I tried it in Gnome3 and then there is no problem.
When I then log into KDE 4 back then the usb is reconigzed as a cd.

This seems to be fixed using the config changes suggested here:-
