Peer Guardian (the utility itself command prompt driven), and MoBlock (it's GUI, optional), are IP filtering software (a kind of software firewall extension), that is usefull for blocking specific or entire range of IPs. Most known for its use with torrenting or file sharing in general, its still usefull for normal browsing - downloading. Helps you keeping preying eyes, away from your serfing - sharing, history. http://sourceforge.net/projects/peerguardian/ http://ebutera.github.com/moblock/
There were on Mandriva too. I was using iplist, but other users prefered this one. Same utilities, for the same purpose. The obly difference at my opinion, is that iplist has a more window-ish interface, while moblock stays more faithful to the Linux software look n feel principles.

Seems like MoBlock and IPBlock, are both abandoned now. Peer Guardian is the new project that the MoBlock creator has moved on, so seems to be the official succesor. At it's "THANKS" page, Peer Guardian has a reference to the IP Block author for his suggestions and general help, so probably IP Block shouldn't be maintained any longer too. Peer Guardian (only the Linux version) is active developing and the succesor of both earlier projects. G.
I put together initial test packages here: http://mtf.no-ip.co.uk/pub/linux/barjac/distrib/cauldron/i586/media/extra/release/peerguardian-2.2.3-0.1.mga4.i586.rpm http://mtf.no-ip.co.uk/pub/linux/barjac/distrib/cauldron/x86_64/media/extra/release/peerguardian-2.2.3-0.1.mga4.x86_64.rpm More work is needed to set up correct systemd unit files etc. but this does seem to work when started manually from the GUI. It needs the full path to kdesu/gksu to be entered in the Options/settings dialog e.g.: /usr/lib64/kde4/libexec/kdesu (or without the '64' for i586) in order to start it. I am short of time to do any more with this just now, but if anyone wants to pick it up and continue work on it and commit it, the current SRPM is here: http://mtf.no-ip.co.uk/pub/linux/barjac/distrib/cauldron/SRPMS/peerguardian-2.2.3-0.1.mga4.src.rpm

I found an hour to tidy this up and it's now in Cauldron. Please test.
Closing as we don't have backports.
