mga3beta1 urpmi-7.13-1.mga3 When using urpmq -a to find a match on a string results are only returned for an exact match For example $urpmq -a apac No package named apac
Due to fix for bug #2953, you now have to pass --fuzzy option. I could make -a imply --auto though. WDYT?

I've noticed this in mga2 also Thierry $ urpmq -a vlc vlc vlc vlc vlc vlc vlc $ urpmq -a vlc- lib64vlc-devel libvlc-devel phonon-vlc svlc vlc vlc-plugin-aa vlc-plugin-bonjour vlc-plugin-common vlc-plugin-dv vlc-plugin-flac vlc-plugin-fluidsynth vlc-plugin-ggi vlc-plugin-gme vlc-plugin-gnutls vlc-plugin-jack vlc-plugin-kate vlc-plugin-libass vlc-plugin-libnotify vlc-plugin-lirc vlc-plugin-lua vlc-plugin-mod vlc-plugin-mpc vlc-plugin-ncurses vlc-plugin-opengl vlc-plugin-projectm vlc-plugin-pulse vlc-plugin-schroedinger vlc-plugin-sdl vlc-plugin-shout vlc-plugin-speex vlc-plugin-svgalib vlc-plugin-theora vlc-plugin-twolame vlc-plugin-upnp vlc-plugin-zvbi
Mind you, adding --fuzzy does make it do a fuzzy search, which is sort of contradicting myself really.
> WDYT? -a should probably be a fuzzy search imho
(In reply to comment #1) > Due to fix for bug #2953, you now have to pass --fuzzy option. > I could make -a imply --auto though. > WDYT? So what does the -a switch do now? The man page says it returns " all matches on the command line" How about making -a synonymous with -y so people expecting the old behaviour still get what they want?
Sorry, but this bug saw no action since over 2 yrs ago - no cauldron package has stayed the same - and is still assigned to Bug Squad. Closing as OLD Please reopen if this report is still valid for _current_ cauldron and/or fully updated Mageia 4
