I don't think these were like this previously. Applies to live isos as installer doesn't install desktop icons IINM. Not sure if this belongs as a gnome bug, I think the icons were specifically added for live isos. See attached screenie

Yeah, Gnome changes the way to add icons to the desktop between releases, so we have to play "catch-up" to get it to work... I'll see if I can fix for beta1, but I wont consider it a blocker yet.

Yes I agree. The icons are there, just a bit 'ugly', for want of a better word.

IIRC that was just a nautilus bug. I don't understand how to reproduce this though, gnome-shell doesn't use icons for the desktop?
To reproduce you just boot the livedvd
(In reply to comment #6) > IIRC that was just a nautilus bug. I don't understand how to reproduce this > though, gnome-shell doesn't use icons for the desktop? For mga1 and mga2 we added icons on desktop for "Join Mageia Community" and "Install live..." during iso build, wich worked fine on them, but for mga3 / Gnome 3.6 it adds a uggly white border around the icons ... The same still works on KDE, but Gnome seems to make it harder every time to put something on the desktop... So apparently we have to find a new way of adding icons to the desktop without making them uggly again... Any ideas ?
Fixed in nautilus-3.6.3-3.mga3
