mednafen is not present in Mageia 2. The current version of Mednafen 0.9 is 0.9.26wip. However, mednafen does not exist in Mageia at all.
I can see this package in tainted/release repository, tho' only for mga2.

It's an old version though.
Latest mednafen is in SVN now for cauldron. Didn't submit it yet, because need to dig more why it was removed from mirrors. SRPM is still available though.

Mednafen was missing from i586 repo, but available in x86_64. Pushed a rebuild [1] to tainted/updates_testing for mga2. Pushed also latest version from SVN to cauldron some times ago. [1] mednafen-0.9.18-2.1.mga2

New release [1] should be available on mirrors in anytime soon and now for both arch. [1] mednafen-0.9.18-2.1.mga2

Download from tainted/updates_testing in mga2, arch i586. Installation goes fine, the CLI emulator can be launched with several arguments. I tested it to emulate several systems, namely: Gameboy, Gameboy Color, Gameboy Advance, Nintendo, Super Nintendo. Everything works great. The only problem that I met was the keyboard settings. The default controls are designed for QWERTY keyboards, and one should use Shift+Alt+1 to redefine the controls. The problem is, that there is no such "1" key on an AZERTY keyboard, thus I had to remap my keyboard as en_US to be able to change the controls. Still, I think this issue has nothing to do with the packaging and should be reported upstream (if it was not already done, I did not check).

Tested mga2 x86_64 It works well at emulating games (tested Gba, SNES and neogeo), but the key bindings are awful. I think there's a way to provide better defaults. GBA: instead of using arrow keys, it uses Q S D and Z, which for me is twice wrong => it won't work in non qwerty keyboards layouts, and it's kind of a left-handed setting. Most FPS actually use QSDZ for movement, but platformers usually put controls at the right, where the arrows are. SNES and NEOGEO: I couldn't even press start. The Enter key did nothing. If other people agree to push the update, I won't block it, but I really think we should package it with better out-of-the-box settings.

Jani, any thoughts on comment 9 please?
This bug is only about "rebuild due to a missing i586 pkg". Other issues should be reported separately.
That's not true, but nevertheless if you'd rather it be validated and have new bugs, that's fine. Validating Advisory ------------ Mednafen was missing in i586, this rebuild fixes that. ------------ SRPM: mednafen-0.9.18-2.1.mga2
