Description Shlomi Fish 2012-11-27 15:03:35 CET
Description of problem:

On Mageia Linux Cauldron, with kdebase4-workspace-4.9.80-2.mga3 , it happens often in my account that the Application/Windows entries are not displayed in the pager and task manager. It is fine in a new account. I noticed that it was not fine right after the upgrade, then the problem disappeared, and now it is back again.

Let me know if you want a screenshot.

OK, I'm contemplating bisecting the KDE configuration files to find the culprit, lacking too much else to do.

OK, after some amount of bisecting, I found a symptomatic fix that involved deleting activitymanagerrc which had contained this:

After doing that, my wallpapers and desktop icons were reset, and I had to restore them.

Now, the bug resurfaced. Very annoying.

I encountered probably same annoyance and found easy (though for me unexplainable) fix: right click on task panel, select Task Manager Settings and *uncheck* "Only show tasks from the current activity". Unexplainable part is that I have only one (default) activity but after update to latest KDE apparently something has decided that some applications are not in that activity ...

Thanks!

That fixes the task manager problem. Still no luck with the Pager.

Hi all,

the bugs reported here are still unsolved (even in KDE-4.9.90) and I have yet to hear from the Mageia KDE maintainers. Should I report these problems upstream? You people are being irresponsible.

Comment 7 Nicolas Lécureuil 2012-12-11 13:53:30 CET
first yes you can report it upstream, and secondly you are not the only bugreporter and your bugs are not more important than others. So i think i will put you bug at the end of my todolist.

Unable to reproduce in Mageia 5. Appears to be working correctly
